Washingtonians weary of the lack of visible budget progress in the special session will appreciate the clarity of the Walla Walla Union-Bulletin editorial board.
There’s more, of course. But the editorial points out that, at some point, someone has to move.
The sooner the progress of the closed-door negotiations between the House and Senate is made public, the sooner Washingtonians can weigh in on the ideas, and the sooner lawmakers can get down to honing a plan that is acceptable — and will work.
Allowing this all to simmer through this special session and into another special session is a waste of time and taxpayer dollars.
We’re still betting the simmering will continue a while.
