The Associated Press reports that Senate Democrats and Republicans have reached a deal on two issues that led to a budget meltdown last week.
Senate Republicans and Democrats reached a deal Wednesday on how to address a class-size initiative with a multibillion-dollar price tag that currently has the new state operating budget out of balance.
A joint statement released by both caucuses says they’ve reached agreement on a bill that will delay a requirement for high school students to pass a high school biology exam for this year and 2016, which helps about 2,000 students at risk of not graduating. In turn, the statement says they will take action on delaying Initiative 1351 on the Senate floor on Thursday.
Good news.
