Following up on yesterday’s report that voters rank education funding the state’s highest priority, we wanted to share the results of our informal website survey (interesting, but not scientific). More than 60 percent of respondents also rank K-12 funding as the issue they’re “watching most closely.” Health care comes in second, possibly as a result of the national discussion of the fate of the Affordable Care Act, followed by government spending & taxes, and transportation.
As we noted in yesterday’s post, while voters rank K-12 funding as a top issue, disagreements on ways and means for achieving the full-funding objective (how much? how?) make the 2017 legislative session uncommonly challenging. It’s the issue we’ll also be watching most closely.
